Wind Farms

The large-scale site boundary of wind farms and associated infrastructure projects means that they have the real potential to impact directly and indirectly on archaeological, architectural and cultural heritage landscape features.

The practice has produced numerous cultural heritage EIAs for wind farms, the largest containing 51 turbines in County Roscommon. We have carried out EIAs and planning services for 199 turbines, totalling 494 MW of energy, on sites from Donegal to Cork.

Fieldwork has involved monitoring the construction of a 13 turbine wind farm, test trenching for a 110kV substation and monitoring the excavation of geotechnical test pits.
